" I was making a total mess of the mounting materials when Josh literally howled “NOW!” During our drills, Josh had gotten me out of the habit of looking first, so I just dove for cover. But before I’d even reached the floor, there was the incredible roar of a shotgun blast and a sound like flying glass. I scrambled into the stool well under the counter. Josh had made the point that I wasn’t to make myself a target and my only role was to keep my head down until he yelled ‘all clear.’ I’d just curled into the corner when there were two more quick shotgun blasts and the sound of a lot of things being destroyed. It was incredibly noisy. I tried to stick my fingers deep into my ears, but my hands were shaking too badly. Next came an almost stunning sound which may have been two shotgun barrels being fired together. Not knowing what was going on, I didn’t know that the next blast was the final one. It might have been a minute or so from Josh’s warning until I felt a toe poke in my ribs."
